Status Is Loud – Influence Is Quiet
Hi,
I hope your week has gotten off to a great start!
A wise mentor once said to me, “If you have to tell someone you have status, you probably don’t.”
For, there’s something about status—
the need to be seen,
to be known,
to be recognised.
And often, the louder we say it, the less true it is. True influence doesn’t announce itself. It needs no title, platform, or introduction. It’s felt.
This week, we watch Jesus walk toward the cross—
No status.
No defence.
No performance.
No defence.
No performance.
He doesn’t grasp for position—he lays it down. And somehow—through surrender, not striving—he shapes history in a way no empire ever could.
It’s an invitation to loosen our grip on being seen and focus on who we are becoming—that’s where real, quiet influence grows.
Have a great Easter,
Mark
